Microsoft Intune Advanced Analytics
Advanced Analytics is the analytics layer over Intune-managed endpoints: anomaly detection that flags device health regressions after a configuration change, an enhanced timeline of events on a specific device for troubleshooting, device scopes that slice endpoint analytics reports to a subset of machines, near real-time device queries, and battery health reporting. Since July 2026 it is included in Microsoft 365 E3, E5 and E7, so most enterprise buyers already hold it. It requires Intune Plan 1 or Plan 2 underneath, endpoint analytics configured in the tenant first, and Windows devices that are Intune managed, co-managed, or Microsoft Entra joined or hybrid joined.
What it is
Microsoft Intune Advanced Analytics is a set of analytics-driven capabilities that help administrators understand, anticipate and improve what the endpoint estate is actually doing to the people using it.
Who it is for
Teams who can already deploy policy but cannot yet answer why a particular fleet got slower last month, or which devices a configuration change quietly degraded.
Check your plan first
Since July 2026, Microsoft 365 E3, E5 and E7 include Advanced Analytics, along with Intune Plan 2 and Remote Help. If the tenant is on one of those, this standalone add-on adds nothing.

Requirements
A subscription in addition to Microsoft Intune Plan 1 or Plan 2. Endpoint analytics must be configured in the tenant and its prerequisites met before Advanced Analytics features work.
Device support is narrower than Intune's own: Advanced Analytics features support Windows devices that are Intune managed, co-managed with Configuration Manager, or Microsoft Entra joined or hybrid joined. It runs in the public cloud and in the US Government Community Cloud High and Department of Defense environments, though device query and the resource performance report are not included in Department of Defense environments.
Do I already have Advanced Analytics?
If the tenant is on Microsoft 365 E3, E5 or E7, yes. Since July 2026 all three include it alongside Intune Plan 2 and Remote Help.
Which devices does it cover?
Windows devices that are Intune managed, co-managed with Configuration Manager, or Microsoft Entra joined or hybrid joined. It is narrower than Intune's own cross-platform reach.
Is there anything to set up first?
Yes. Devices must meet the endpoint analytics prerequisites and endpoint analytics must be configured in the tenant before Advanced Analytics features work.
What does anomaly detection actually detect?
Regressions in device health affecting user experience and productivity, particularly following configuration changes, which is the case that is hardest to spot from policy state alone.
Does it work in government clouds?
It supports the public cloud and the US Government Community Cloud High and Department of Defense environments. Device query and the resource performance report are not included in Department of Defense environments.
